Smart torpedo

The PERAL2013 carries two Smart torpedoes that are able to describe predefined paths to reach their goal. They encapsulate a series of electronic circuits, accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers and DSPs. A specifically designed firmware deals with the calculations of the best path based on the received coordinates from the CCS (Central Control System) through an optical link at the torpedo launcher.

The two torpedoes are completely autonomous, being its maximum autonomy of about 10 minutes, max-speed of 2 [knots], length of 150 [mm], diameter of 44[mm] and the weight of 187 [gr].
